HB 491 RESIDENTIAL BUILDING SAFETY STANDARDS - To amend sections 3781.10, 3781.104, and 5302.30 of the Revised Code to require fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors in residential buildings and residential units, to direct the Board of Building Standards to adopt rules that establish product and installation standards for fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors, to require transferors of residential real property to disclose whether fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors are installed in their property, and to prohibit a transferor of residential real property from entering into a transfer agreement unless fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors are installed as the bill requires. HB 481 UNINSURED MOTORISTS - To amend sections 2305.16 and 3937.18 of the Revised Code to include in the definition of uninsured motorist, operators who avoid liability because of a "sudden emergency" plea, to prohibit uninsured and underinsured coverage from limiting or contracting certain coverage requirements, and to include uninsured motorist and underinsured motorist coverage in the current tolling of the statute of limitations due to the person bringing an action being within the age of minority or of unsound mind. HB 480 REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY - To enact sections 306.322 and 306.55 of the Revised Code to create an additional procedure for subdivisions to join a regional transit authority that levies a property tax and that includes a county having a population of at least 400,000 and to allow a subdivision that is a member of such a regional transit authority to withdraw from the authority.
